Which is best? That again will be determined by what is most important to the rider. The 19 will be easier to tune, get better milages, and deal with the changes in the conditions better than a 21, but the 21 will produce more power. The 17.5 on the 50cc street bikes works well, and it also does on Derbi's 75cc GPR. Micah has run 28mm carbs on his 50cc race bikes. Notice I'm running a 23 on the track bike. If it had I probably would have run one on it.Ĭarb size is dependent on the purpose of the bike. The main reason my track bike isn't running an air box is because the bike didn't come with one. It was designed with more current technology for these sorts of bikes, and that's why they work so well for them. For this reason I have considered painting the Polini carbs.
I have noticed some corrosion issues with my Polini carbs that I've not seen with the Dels, MetraKits, Mikunis, or Keihins. The material quality of the Del is probably better than the CP. I'm currently not running the Del as I replaced it with a CP. The PHBG is a very good carb, and the racing version is a nice upgrade. I'm currently running CP carbs on some of my other bikes, and I also have a Del 21 Racing which has the quick access port too. Not that this bike develops a huge amount of power or anything. Track bikes are set up a bit differently, where power is more important. Because I ride this at the track I'm not really concerned about changes in conditions like I would be with a street bike. For this bike it is a stock 50cc top end with a 23mm Polini CP carb, and a MetraKit SP pipe.
So to cp you need to buy that seperately?Here's one as I installed it on my GPR track bike. With dellorto phbg, was it cs or "racing" model you get quick accsess to main jet. I always thought polini cp:s were phbg dellorto knock offs, cheaper substitutes. Do you have a picture of those adapters or a link to them?įor my experience the OEM airbox realy is the way to go.
